Siemens is an amazing place to work! There are A LOT of perks that come with working for Siemens. Free 20 min massages available once a week, free fruit baskets, great canteen with fantastic chefs. Massive on charity work and health & wellbeing...although management do not practice what they preach & will happily work you into the ground while they collect their bonus & drive fancy cars. Shocking HR also, they’re absolutely useless.
Early start for 12 hour days, both day and night shiftsArduous workRewarding workGood learning opportunities but low job progression chanceLow work-life balanceGood company at higher level, not so good lower down the chain
Long hours, favouritism
I have worked for Siemens and their former company names (Invensys,Westinghouse) for most of my rail way career and have found them a great company to work for they allowed me to develop with their support from track man to now installation manger level
Working at Siemens gave me confidence and experience. I learned how to work well with a team, take instructions and set plans in to action. A typical day at work started by sorting mail, distributing mail, collecting mail, printing, packing, sending things off and then doing the mail run again at the end of the day. From day to day, more jobs can be added or taken from the usual plan. I enjoyed my brief time here and am thankful for the opportunity.
Friendly atmosphere, good hours, good pay.
Quite a distance to get to.
Worked for siemens for many years from 20 years ago when they were originally Westinghouse signals. Last two roles under the siemens banner i was employed on various contracts for siemens uk wide. Working with the same management on each, i was looked after and also placed onto courses and training whilst under their employment
long hours are expected in these roles, so if your not willing to put in, dont do it. Loved the long hours.
I enjoyed working for Siemens however there was never any oppurtunity to expand into your role accept if you worked in Sales or Marketing. You had to be a very good Politician.
Supperfical senior level management
Working at Siemens was a great experience in terms o flexibility in the office and the working environment. Working from home is an option, colleagues are very friendly and hotdesking around the office allows great networking opportunities. The only reason I believe this is not the company for me is because I did not see great opportunities to advance in the workplace and I think that it is still an incredibly bureaucratic workplace.
Flexible working hours, working from home, free massages!
Typical day working alongside managers, supervisors and their teams ensuring their quotations were sent out on time. Learned working in a large environment compared to smaller companies was very rewarding. Management was good. Workplace culture was good and once again made friends for life. Hardest part of the job was ensuring everyone's quotations etc were meet so that they hit their targets. Most enjoyable part of this job was the social life outside work was good as the teams worked well together
Good company with nice helpful people. They always gave you the opportunity to speak your mind and air your concerns and after tried to do something to fix the issues.
Friendly, open and helpful
Merger of companies ruined the structure
See below: Good cafeteria, perks, travel, credit card, free hotels, many new connections Sometimes long and boring, Could spend hours doing nothing or scrolling through spreadsheets

Sometimes long and boring
Only left because of changes in personal life and Siemens always supported me very well. Decided to leave to return to education and joined academia as a result in what has proved a very positive decision.

Overall i have had great experience and been exposed to many project and learned a lot through my time at Siemens. It is a company that values their workforce and there are many benefits offered. however i personally feel the salary is not as competitive as it can be.
