Job Description Summary
Coordinate, execute and expedite all processes related to the flow of materials (from suppliers [intercompany or external] and within departments) according to production and assembly schedules. Lead the Planning team and assertively distribute activities to with the goal of producing effective and efficient results. Plan and schedule material/production needs aligned with Manufacturing Manager. Coordinate and/or create production orders and be responsible for their on-time execution and rescheduling if needed. Connect with Engineering team in all matters related to materials and BOM and ECMs releases. Guarantee that all materials within projects are mapped and timely available. Pro-actively interface with other intercompany business units to make materials locally available and/or support these locations if needed. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.Job Description
What impact you’ll make
In the position of Planning Leader, all activities must be conducted through a strong focus on planning, organization and efficient and effective communication. As a member of the Supply Chain team, your role will be to ensure the success of assembly and production activities, managing the Planning team and all related activities, to ensure a lean and continuous process, supporting the Manufacturing Manager and ensuring on time deliveries in accordance with the values of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
What you’ll do
Lead the Planning team and assertively distribute activities to with the goal of producing effective and efficient results.
Evaluate new projects and their deliverables and develop production orders and/or similar tools in conjunction with the Material Planner and Production Planner to ensure that the entire project scope is captured and executed.
Ensure that production order and/or similar tools reviews are executed in an agile, punctual and assertive manner.
Map and control the availability of all materials needed for the assembly process, ensuring minimum stock and immediate and timely availability. Actively work with other GEV CSS units (local and/or international) in order to meet material needs for local projects.
Track and evaluate all Engineering releases (ECMs), performing careful assessments of their content with the aim of confirming which ECMs are applicable to the business unit and which of these require Supply Chain actions.
Review the impact of project changes (scope, dates, deadlines, etc.) and material delivery changes and create action plans together with external and intercompany suppliers. Communicate appropriately the changes to all departments and stakeholders.
Work together with the Sourcing and Purchasing teams to identify improvements and opportunities for suppliers and/or supply processes.
Identify and seek updates to the ERP system (SAP®) with the IT team to implement continuous improvements in terms of materials control.
Support Supply Chain team with inputs during approval of new projects and short cycles.
Develop, analyze and provide reports and indicators to control demand and manage materials in projects.
Work together with the Purchasing and Logistics Leader to ensure on time deliveries of materials. Develop solid action and recovery plans within the budget to maintain the original schedule.
Establish weekly meetings with the manufacturing, purchasing and logistics teams to ensure material needs and progress of assembly and internal testing activities.
Participate in weekly meetings with Project Managers in order to provide material delivery status and check deadlines and critical points throughout the project.
Ensure that the dates established for Supply Chain in the project are met, maintaining frequent communication with those responsible for the sectors involved.
Communicate assertively and proactively with different departments, seeking alignment of parties, solving problems and meeting projects’ needs.
Work together with the Manufacturing Manager to constantly implement improvements and lean manufacturing processes.
Verify ERP (SAP®) movements and materials allocations (directs and consumables) into the project. Constantly analyze inventory stock (physical x SAP® system) together with the manufacturing team (stockroom personnel) in terms of materials needed for ongoing and future projects and report inventory discrepancies.
Verify lists of projects leftover materials, promoting prompt and detailed analysis and classification for return to stock and/or scrap.
Provide analysis of historical data to support Sourcing and Purchasing teams to take decisions of lead time change (real cycles based on historical data in comparison with current standard lead time).
Provide data and KPIs to the Supply Chain Leader demonstrating possible increases in lead times from intercompany shipments with the goal of regularizing and reducing these lead times.
Participate in “War Room” meetings to anticipate material deliveries.
Identify opportunities for improvement.
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
Engineering bachelor’s degree and/or associate degree
Significant experience working with materials and production planning
Relevant experience working with products, services and suppliers for manufacturing and assembling control panels
Proven experience as a people leader
Advanced English mandatory
Advanced Spanish required
Good written and oral communication skills
Advanced and proved experience with ERP System – SAP®
Advanced and proved experience with Office including MS Project.
