Collaborative R&D Engineer

To succeed in this role, it will be advantageous to have a strong technical background in Electrical Engineering or HV technology . Further important qualifications are:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or High Voltage Engineering.
  • Fluent in English and Swedish, both verbal and written.
  • Solid knowledge in MATLAB, with experience in SolidWorks, Labview, PSpice, or similar.

Your main tasks will be to:

Understand customer needs and business drivers, implementing initiatives to improve operations and satisfaction.

Build electrical test circuits and perform experiments for medium to high voltage applications.

Conduct complex technology/engineering assignments, using advanced and innovative techniques.

Communicate technical results comprehensively to various stakeholders.

Lead and conduct consulting and R&D projects, identifying and implementing innovative solutions.

Join a diverse and international team of experts developing the power cable technology of the future, focusing on deeper seas, lower losses and higher performance. The technology department leads the company's research and development programme, including materials development, and operates some of the most advanced high-voltage testing centres in the industry. NKT also operates a technology consulting centre in Sweden, where technical experts and scientists support the industry worldwide with cross-disciplinary R&D projects and technical investigations.
