Your role

As the Head of People Services, you will oversee the Recruitment process, Onboarding, Compensation & Benefits, International Mobility, Travel and Employee Central Administration functions for Volvo do Brazil. You'll be responsible for leading a team of HR professionals to ensure the seamless delivery of HR services and support to our employees.


  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to optimize HR service delivery and enhance the employee experience.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, selection, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Lead internship and apprentice programs.
  • Manage compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee international mobility programs, including expatriate assignments, immigration processes, and policies.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient administration of employee data and records in HRIS systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address HR needs and challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and services, applying VPS.
  • Maintain, review, and update People & Services policies and procedures to ensure compliance and relevance.
  • Support reporting, surveys, and data gathering to inform decision-making.
  • Build and maintain service delivery models to deliver exceptional customer service aligned with People & Services strategy.
  • Manage supplier relationships for associated systems and services, including scoping or review activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and Volvo Group policies.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned, as GPTW.


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in people management or equivalent qualifications preferred.

  • Proven experience in HR leadership roles, demonstrating progressive HR experience, including leadership roles.

  • Track record as a progressive people and culture manager across large, complex organizations with multiple stakeholders and multicultural environments.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, work with a sense of urgency, and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Ability to oversee substantial amounts of confidential/sensitive information responsibly.

  • Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices, compensation principles, and international mobility regulations.

  • High level of business acumen and professional maturity.

  • Highly adaptive and effective in both virtual and cross-cultural environments, with a good command of Office 365 digital tools.

  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems), preferably SAP tools (Success Factors) and cloud-based systems.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Fluent in English and Portuguese; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

  • A proactive team player who inspires, collaborates, motivates, and identifies opportunities for growth and improvement.
