About the Opportunity:

First Help Financial, voted and certified as a "Great Place to Work" for the fifth year in a row is seeking a Associate Product Owner to join our highly skilled and innovative team. First Help Financial is embarking on a new growth phase involving multiple game-changing projects. To fuel such innovation, we are seeking a full-time, Junior Product Owner to enhance our team focusing on technology-driven solutions for the auto loan industry. Candidates should have experience in the financial sector, expertise in Scrum, and the capability to work effectively with software development teams. This position involves writing high-quality specifications, working closely with the engineering team to provide business context, and meeting overall Product Owner responsibilities. Experience as a Business Analyst in a related field would be beneficial.

What you will do:

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on the product to develop a comprehensive understanding of its features and intricacies.
  • Work with a broader product and design team to understand and develop the product strategy in the automotive finance technology space.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and integrate their needs into product development.
  • Partner with software development teams to ensure smooth execution of product features.
  • Draft clear and concise product specifications, managing product backlogs effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison between business needs and technical solutions by gathering requirements from stakeholders, communicating them to the technical team, and assisting in prioritizing these requirements.
  • Work the first 6-12 months alongside Product management in an assistive/complementing role to ensure ramp up of knowledge and product delivery before taking independent charge on specific product lines under the guidance of the product management.

What you bring:

  • 1+ Years as a Product Owner (or similar)
  • Track record of delivering complex projects
  • Track record of measurable impact
  • Proficiency in creating user stories that accurately capture user needs and guide the development of features and functionalities
  • Extensive knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies
  • Attention to detail working with Product management and stakeholders translating to full-fledged requirements
  • Good documentation capabilities
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced and changing technical environment
  • Prior knowledge of the financial domain is preferred
  • CSPO certification is highly desirable
